Lt. General Klotz's Biography:
Lt. Gen. Frank G. Klotz is Vice Commander, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. He assists the Commander in the development, acquisition and operation of the Air Forces space and missile systems. The command oversees a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensures the combat readiness of America's intercontinental ballistic missile force. The command comprises more than 39,700 space professionals who provide combat forces and capabilities to North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Strategic Command. General Klotz also directs and coordinates the activities of the headquarters staff.
General Klotz entered the Air Force in 1973 as a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has commanded a Minuteman missile squadron, a missile launch task force, an operations group, a missile wing and a numbered air force. The general's staff assignments include tours on the Air Staff, in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and at the State Department as a White House Fellow. He has also served on the faculty of the Air Force Academy, at NATO headquarters in Brussels, at the American Embassy in Moscow, Russia, and as the Director for Nuclear Policy and Arms Control with the National Security Council at the White House. Prior to assuming his current position, General Klotz was Commander, 20th Air Force, Air Force Space Command, and Commander, Task Force 214, U.S. Strategic Command.
