From the beginning on April 21, 2004, the Las Vegas World Affairs Council has been in the news.

Located in America's most visited and exciting city, The Las Vegas World Affairs Council is a non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing international education and opportunities. The Council does this by:

    • Hosting public events that provide deeper international context and allow citizens to debate and discuss the most important issues of the day;
    • Conducting and sponsoring a wide range of educational programs, including the SAGE Academy, Academic WorldQuest, teacher education programs, and complimentary student and military tickets for international speaking events;
    • Providing fresh event and international information on the Internet at three different websites:
    -- www.lvwac.org, the Council's homepage;
    -- www.wtwlv.org, World Trade Week - Las Vegas, a partnership between the Department of Commerce and LVWAC;
